Webraska to launch mobile phone satnav in Russia
Webraska, French provider of off-board mobile GPS navigation solutions announced the selection of its software by Russian company Teleprovodnik to launch GPS mobile navigation in Russia.

Teleprovodnik Navigation will be available in Moscow and St Petersburg, the only cities mapped by Navteq in Russia so far. Russians travelling to Europe will be also served by this solution.

«For 20 millions potential users in Moscow and St-Petersburg, and more than one million Russians travelling to Europe each year, Teleprovodnik Navigation will provide the best navigation solution Russian language,» explained Sergey Kurnosov, CEO of Teleprovodnik.

«There is a clear demand from mobile users roaming into other countries to have access, in their own language, to rich and accurate navigation and location-based information relevant to the country and city they are visiting,» explained Jean-Michel Durocher, Founder and EVP of Webraska. «And with more and more Russians visiting Europe, and thanks to Navteq’s quickly increasing coverage of Russia, we feel very fortunate to be able to help Teleprovodnik develop their vision and to bring a Russian version of Webraska Navigation».

Webraska software runs on Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Symbian and Java phones.
