Sygic Reaches 100 Mio Downloads of Navigation App
Mobile navigation software vendor Sygic has announced today to have reached 100 million downloads of their navigation apps.

Sygic has a freemium business model where the application is free to download, but turn-by-turn voice guidances, 3D views, Dashcam, etc. are coming as in-app purchases.

Last year around the same period (read here) the company had 55 million downloads. At that time, in an interview with GPS Business News Sygic CEO Michal Stencl was already planning to reach 100 million mid 2015.

Data from App Store monitoring platform Priori Data shows that the acquisition of the Be-On-Road app last year has significantly helped Sygic to reach this 100 million goal.

To celebrate this success Sygic is offering two weeks free connected services to its users, another opportunity for the company to let its users test and buy the additional services.
