Rip Curl Teasing GPS Watch for Surfers

Rip Curl Teasing GPS Watch for Surfers
Surf brand Rip Curl has been teasing since last week a GPS watch for surfers. The idea seems quite interesting and innovative, yet another application for GPS-enabled watches in sport.

The Rip Curl Search GPS Watch will allow users to “Track your surf, register your top speed and distance and rack up your wave count in each session. Sync your data to the Rip Curl Search App or Website to re-live your surf with location maps, image sharing and graphic charts which showcase your session.“

Neither a price nor a date of availability has been announced yet.

Rip Curl has been selling watches to its fans for years but so far there was no GPS available; only a digital compass has been embedded in high-end models.
