NAVTEQ to hire new CTO, former Motorola software VP

NAVTEQ today announced the addition of Amreesh Modi as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Modi is responsible for setting the technology vision and driving Research and Development for the company. He will be based in the Chicago headquarters and will report to Judson Green, President & CEO.

Modi joins NAVTEQ from Motorola where he served in a variety of technology leadership roles; most recently as Vice President, Motorola Software. In this capacity, he directed the development of system and application software, multimedia services and convergence solutions for the network, enterprise and connected home businesses. He established software design centers around the world including India, China, Singapore, Australia and Europe.

Prior to Motorola, Modi spent 15 years at AT&T Bell Labs in various engineering and product development roles. Modi holds a M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.
