Magellan, Polar & Mapillary Join GoPro Dev Program
Last week in San Francisco GoPro unveiled their developer program that already features more than 100 partners.

Among these are Mapillary, Polar and Magellan that have associated their geo-location apps and GPS devices with the well-known action camera brand.

Mapillary, a community-based photomapping platform, today announced a new update to its app where they can now control GoPro cameras from within their app and geotag the photos directly on their iPhones (Android coming soon).

GPS maker Magellan also announced GoPro connectivity with its eXplorist TRX7 off-road navigator. The connectivity will allow users to navigate trails with Magellan, while controlling functions and capturing adventures along the way with GoPro.

At the press event hosted by GoPro last week in San Francisco, Magellan demonstrated several of the TRX7's GoPro capabilities including preview, video start/stop, and video duration/recording icon display.

Upon launch, many additional features will be available to users including playback, battery level and the ability to change capture mode. Additionally, users will be able to add photos from the GoPro and attach them to their recorded track or waypoint.

GPS watch maker Polar will introduce Works with GoPro functionality to the Polar V800 GPS multisport watch later this year.

V800 watch users will be able to operate GoPro cameras and see speed, distance, altitude and heart rate data in their GoPro filmed material.

Users can then therefore relive events or training sessions with a video and see you data overlaid on the picture (see the video below).
