Interview with Michael Sharon, co-founder of Socialight
Socialight calls itself a "social mapping service". Basically it creates a virtual layer on top of the world that is only visible with Socialight. The layer is made up of sticky notes created by people using their phone or a computer. But Socialight is also a community: any time a user is near a note his phone will buzz, display the note content, and also allow the user to check out some background on the person who posted it. From there, the user can instantly respond or leave its own note.

Socialight was launched in December 2006; in this video interview, its CTO and co-founder, Michael Sharon, gives us an update about the company and its services.
