Announcing today its third quarter results, CSR, a worldwide provider of Bluetooth chipsets, updated the financial community about its GPS plans.

“The development of CSR's software-based GPS is on schedule”, said the company. “Product release is planned over two phases. Firstly CSR's standalone GPS is becoming available to customers whilst in 2008 we will be supplying a Bluetooth and GPS combined chip.”

“Personal navigation and personal media player products incorporating CSR's GPS solution are now being trialed internally and CSR expects to demonstrate its GPS product, integrated into a handset from a major OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) at 3GSM, Barcelona in February 2008”.

CSR customers for its Bluetooth and WiFi chipsets include Mio Technology and TomTom.
