AmberWatch Foundation to launch mobile safety application
The AmberWatch foundation and Qualcomm announced today the AmberWatch Mobile service, providing tracking, monitoring and alert capabilities to GPS enabled mobile phones. Based on the Brew platform, the application for AmberWatch Mobile is developed by WaveMarket, the family-location white label services provider. AmberWatch Mobile is targeted for a September consumer rollout n the United States.

Once launched, AmberWatch Mobile's services will include a large range of safety features with text-message, voice, web and email. Individuals will be able to send alerts, which include their GPS location, to family and friends to indicate that they need assistance. If their primary contact is not reachable, the system will continue to be active until a secondary contact is reached. Select family and friends will be able to view a loved one's location on a map from a PC or mobile phone. Parents will also be able to set up "scheduled checks" so they will be automatically notified that their children are where they should be, like arriving at home from school.

"AmberWatch Mobile is designed to protect people in harm's way and to provide peace of mind," said Keith Jarrett, chairman and CEO of the AmberWatch Foundation. "We are hopeful that this easy-to-use technology will be another tool that will prevent child abduction and other violent crimes before they happen."

AmberWatch Foundation is a US not-for-profit organization dedicated to keeping kids safe from molestation and abduction through preventative education programs.
