User-generated map and traffic start-up Waze has announced this week to have reached 1 million users in Italy, making the country their second largest in terms of users after the United States.
Since its launch in 2010, Waze said 168 million kilometres have been driven with the app. An average of 100,000 road incidents are reported by the community each month.
The Italian users are also very active in the Waze map edition process, the top map editor worldwide (nickname Asterix06) is an Italian.
Waze is currently claiming 12 million users worldwide.
