Wayfinder signed US$2.9M contract with handset manufacturer
Swedish mobile navigation company Wayfinder announced today to have received an order of SEK 19.5 million (US$2.9 million) from a large handset manufacturer for software, services and GPS receivers. “Approximately 60% of the order consists of hardware and 40% of services to be delivered during the third quarter of this year with a substantial potential for additional services to be delivered at a later point in time”, said Wayfinder. The name of the handset manufacturer has not been disclosed.

With an estimated wholesale price of US$50 per Bluetooth GPS receiver, this handset manufacturer is probably planning to put on the market around 35,000 kits of navigation before the end of the year.
