The advertising platform, officially launched in March 2010, also added its 100th publisher.
“The intersection of mobile, location and commerce is widely viewed to be the next revolution for local advertising,” stated Walt Doyle, CEO of Where, Inc. “With the growth of our publisher network, we are running a network at scale that provides advertisers with reach to more than 50 million consumers.“
“WHERE Ads has been the easiest ad network for us to work with,” added Brian Mikalis, vice president Performance Sales at mobile internet radio service Pandora. “A local experience is important to Pandora and WHERE Ads has been instrumental in delivering relevant local content to our listeners while helping us monetize our applications. Most importantly, our listeners have written and called to tell us the value of the advertising they deliver.”
Besides its ad platform, WHERE operates a local search and recommendation application on multiple networks and various smartphones which gathers around 3 million active users. It is currently in the top 15 applications in the navigation category on the U.S. iPhone app store.
Previously known as uLocate Communications, WHERE Inc. has been profitable for a year after having raised around $16 million from venture capital firms Venrock, GrandBanks Capital and Kodiak Venture Partners.
The company has recently moved its office to accommodate a growing workforce of more than 60 people. It also opened Where d.o.o., a wholly owned subsidiary located in Split, Croatia.
