ViaMichelin and Nokia sign strategic agreement
ViaMichelin and Nokia have announced yesterday a strategic global agreement. The new service will enable access from Nokia phones equipped with the latest version of Ovi Maps for devices (i.e. Nokia Maps) to the complete Michelin listings database, including more than 60,000 establishments and 20,000 tourist sites across Europe, the US and Canada.

Users will be able to find POIs such as restaurants, guesthouses, charming hotels and tourist sites from the Michelin database on the basis of their current geographic location or address. The service will also provide access to the detailed descriptions provided for each establishment (contact details, ratings, opening hours, prices, etc) as well as the Michelin comments.

Available in five languages, the content will be launched progressively in Europe, North America and Canada starting this month. This content will be available to consumers whether through premium packages sold by wireless operators - that integrate other Nokia partner’s content – through Ovi Store or through purchase within the application itself with the upcoming “Maplets” that will take advantage of the recently announced Ovi Maps APIs.
