Verizon teams up with Disney for LBS in theme Parks
Verizon Wireless and Walt Disney resorts are announcing today a multi-year agreement where Verizon will develop a new mobile application to help families get the most of their resort vacations.

Among other features, this application will offer location-based services to help visitors locating places such as restaurants, hotels, attractions or even find in real time Disney characters in the park, saving parents from running around the park all day looking for Mickey Mouse.

“With more than 90 percent of families bringing a mobile phone into our Parks, our objective was to enhance the magical Disney experience through innovative wireless technology,” said Jay Rasulo, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Initially the application will only work for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The companies will add support for other Disney resorts later.
