TomTom announced it has shipped its 10th millionth navigation product this week. Thanks to a fast growing market in Europe and in the United States the company has doubled its installed base in the past year alone.

TomTom claims to have “the largest number of customers in the navigation industry worldwide today.” This claim is probably true for the Personal Navigation Device (PND) market, but “navigation” is a bit larger than that; for example Garmin has shipped over 20 million units since its inception, most of them being “navigation” products.
