TomTom has updated its car kit offering with a new product that is both compatible with iPhone and Smartphones (for example Android) with a mini USB connector. The system has been designed to mount all type of smartphone shapes, including their cases.
The car kit integrates Bluetooth, an in-built 2 watt speaker and an extendable microphone.
The car kit can be attached with a suction cup on the windscreen or on the dashboard via a self-adhesive disc that allows use of the suction mount on the dash.
The Bluetooth system allows to connect two phones on the go. In addition, the kit has anwser and reject buttons to manage calls even if the phone is not mounted.
Unlike the previous model this car kit does not include a GPS module to improve the reception of the satellites’ signal.
The car kit will retail for €100. A bundle (€150) for iPhone is also offered which includes the car kit with TomTom’s Western Europe navigation app, a €20 savings.
