Third ad-funded, mobile nav solution launched in Germany

Third ad-funded, mobile nav solution launched in Germany
Telegate AG, a European Directory company and LocatioNet, a supplier of mobile navigation have announced their collaboration to launch a new free ad-funded local search and GPS navigation service for mobile phone users in Germany. This launch is the third free, ad-funded application available to German mobile users after Ö-Navi and Skobbler. We would not be surprised if Germany becomes soon a dead market for subscription-based solutions.

Telegate already operates the “11 880” directory service in Germany on which website the application can be downlaoded. Telegate ranks as one of the leading European providers for information services with around 3,000 employees. The company was founded in 1996 and has been listed on Frankfurt’s stock exchange since 1999.

The ’11 88 0’ directory service within the mobile application is currently covering Germany and the mapping and navigation service is extending to the whole of Europe, North America, Middle East, Australia, parts of Asia and South Africa. “Few ad banners will be presented to the users only in idle moment of usage in friendly and a non-irritating way”, said the press release.
