The Road Group, Global Location Based Solutions acquires MyGuide

The ROAD Group has acquired MyGuide, one of the top five European players in navigational systems. The ROAD Group’s products and services will add online services like toll road fee information, “friend finders” and dynamic web-based content to various online services for navigational systems. The ROAD Group will also supply Geo-Tagging solutions which can be used to add location data to websites, graphics, and other online information sources.



The ROAD Group has already completed a number of investments and participations, including the Stuttgart (Germany) based software company One Step Ahead (please click to read interview, which is now a part of the group. This company has tackled the problem of multi-source digital maps by offering a solution for using different digital maps, e.g. Navteq and TeleAtlas in one system. The ROAD Group has also acquired a participating interest in the Korean company BlueBird, which will supply dedicated routing and navigational software. It is expected that more companies will join the ROAD Group in the coming months.
Building upon the rich experience of its management team and board members, the ROAD Group is in an optimum position to respond to the trends in online road map services based on Location Based Services architectures. It plans to fine-tune its products and services to developments such as Google Maps and other online services. In addition, Geo-Tagging will enable the ROAD Group to launch a range of new products and services, in combination with the MyGuide products and solutions, amongst others
