Telmap Intros Multimodal Routing Within EU-Funded Project
Mobile navigation and search supplier Telmap, today introduces multimodal routing, as part of its involvement with the innovative, pan-European In-Time project financed by the European Commission.

Telmap provides the In-Time project with multimodal, door-to-door routing that includes all available transportation forms such as walk, drive, buses, undergrounds and trams, flights and more.

The service will initiate in six cities across Europe: Munich, Florence, Vienna, Bucharest, Oslo and Brno. Additional cities are expected to come on-board. Telmap was selected as one of the leading navigation partners and will provide its solution on the Symbian S-60 series, both for touch and non-touch devices, which currently translates to dozens of devices in the above mentioned cities.

An iPhone version, built by a company called Fluidtime and launched a few days ago, is also available.

The In-Time project was started on April 1, 2009 for three years and the total cost of the project was €4.58 Million, half of it supported by the European Commission. Other partners in the project include Telematix, Brimatech, Teleatlas, Mizar, Austro Control, micKS, Geo Solutions, Brněnské komunikace, ATAF, Softeco Sismat, Verkehrsverbund Ost, Universitatea Politehnica din Bucuresti, SINTEF, ASFINAG, Fluidtime, ERTICO, PTV, Swarco, Arsenal Research, and Memex.
