Telenav signs up with T-Mobile UK for off-board navigation on Blackberry
Telenav today announced the beginning of a partnership with wireless operator T-Mobile UK (17 million mobile customers) to provide its off-board navigation solution to a range of Blackberry devices. The price of the solution is £49.99 per annum ($97.5) which does not include a data plan or roaming charges. The solution offers maps for Western Europe.

Telenav had previous relationships with T-Mobile in other countries, powering the off-board navigation solution for T-Mobile Austria and T-Mobile United States.

T-Mobile UK has been also engaged for several years in a partnership with ALK for its mobile navigation solution CoPilot. T-Mobile offers this on-board solution for free on several Smartphones (Windows Mobile, Nokia Series 60) under the condition the user signs up for a monthly subscription (£35 or £45). ALK copilot currently offers traffic information and speed camera database. “We don't have traffic information at this time but do hope to add traffic data in future versions”, explained Mary Beth Lowell, a spokesperson with Telenav.

Telenav, which entered the European market one year ago, has now signed deals with Telecom Italia Mobile, T-Mobile Austria and T-mobile UK, all for Blackberry solutions.
