TeleNav inks a deal with T-Mobile Austria
TeleNav, a US-based off-board mobile navigation supplier, today announced an agreement with Austrian wireless operator T-Mobile. The TeleNav Satnav service is available immediately on four BlackBerry smartphones – the BlackBerry 8800 (with built-in GPS), the BlackBerry Pearl, 8700 and 7130 (all three requiring a Bluetooth GPS receiver). The solution costs €8 per month without data and works across Europe. There is also a free 30 days trial on the BlackBerry 8800 through a scratch card available in its box at purchase.

This is the second mobile operator signed in Europe by TeleNav (after Telecom Italia Mobile announced in February). Nevertheless end user target remains highly professional with Blackberrys while in Europe off-board navigation is now making inroads into the consumer market pushed by Jentro which recent deals include Carphone Warehouse in the United Kingdom (read here), Das Oertlich (read here), Debitel (read here) and Simyo (read here) in Germany.
