TechnoCom Aggregates Location for US Cells and Landline Phones
TechnoCom Corporation last week has quietly joined the league of U.S. network location aggregators (Location Labs, LOC-AID) in signing deals with all Tier 1 US wireless networks: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless.

Through a single API developers can build location-enabled applications that leverage the location technologies built in each wireless operator’s network.

In addition, TechnoCom integrates the ability to locate 100 million landline phones, adding to the 260 million cell phones it can locate through the wireless carriers.

With three companies now allowing to retrieve (based on consumer opt-in) location data from 260 million handsets, developers have a choice of providers and this real competition is likely to further develop the market in lowering the cost of locates.
