TCS Extends Deal with US Cellular for BREW-Based Nav
TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) last week announced a two-year extension agreement to provide turn-by-turn navigation software through U.S. Cellular's feature (BREW) phones.
Chicago-based U.S. Cellular is the United States's sixth-largest wireless carrier, currently serving 6.1 million customers. TCS has been providing US Cellular with turn-by-turn navigation for feature phones since the summer 2007. However, rival TeleNav has gained the smartphone part of the US Cellular navigation business in July 2010, powering «Your Navigator Deluxe» a free navigation offer for Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Android handsets.
