Symbian announces market figures for 2006
Delivering its unaudited financial and operational figures for 2006 at GSM World Congress, Symbian announced to have shipped 51.7 million Smartphones in 2006, a 52% increase on 2005.

110 million cumulative Symbian smartphones were shipped since the formation of Symbian in 2003. According to IDC, the smartphone market is expected to rise to around
250 million units by the end of 2010.
