U.S. wireless operator Sprint last week announced that it will market end-to-end usage-based insurance (UBI) services designed specifically for the auto insurance industry.
Sprint has already worked with Esurance on a pilot program in Arizona. “Based on the success of that program, Esurance recently launched its first UBI offering for consumers in Texas,“ said Sprint.
This new B2B service by Sprint comes on the heels of the acquisition of Hugues Telematics (read here) by Sprint’s competitor Verizon Wireless. Hugues Telematics is known for providing U.S. insurer State Farm with its UBI solution (read here).
