Shopkick Goes US-wide in 1,300 Best Buy Stores
Mobile loyalty retail app Shopkick announced last week to have expanded its footprint with Best Buy from the 257 initial stores launched last summer to all 1,296 Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile U.S. locations.
The Shopkick app rewards users for walking into stores. It works with the shopkick Signal - an inaudible sound emitted from a device located in each participating retailer - that verifies a user is in-store. Rewards are provided by a currency called "kicks" that can be redeemed at partnering stores. Shopkick's partner list currently includes Best Buy, Macy's, Target, American Eagle, Crate & Barrel, The Sports Authority, Wet Seal, West Elm, Simon Property Group, Kraft Foods, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Intel, HP and The CW. Shopkick claims to have gathered over 1 million users between August 2010 and January 2011 on iPhone and Android. Tuesday, May 24th 2011
