SatNav Tech expands Indian retail presence
SatNav Technologies, one of the pioneers of consumer navigation in India said today it has extended its retail presence in signing with retailers Croma, E-zone, Staples and Reliance AutoZone. Satguide products (PNDs, PDAs, Smartphones and laptop navigation) are now available in more than 100 stores across the major cities in the country: Delhi, Noida, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The partnership with E-zone integrates a store-in-store concept to educate Indian consumers about SatNav products. “The stores will have promoters of SatNav who will help the customer understand the technicalities involved in handling such devices along with the current GPS technology”, said SatNav Technologies.

The company is planning to open many more stores-in-stores in association with a few more retail chains within the next 12 months. SatNav already expects to have 120,000 customers by the end of the year.

Last June, VC firm Sequoia Capital invested - an undisclosed amount - in SatNav Technologies.
