SPOT signed up first major European retailer Decathlon
SPOT LLC., a wholly owned subsidiary of Globalstar, Inc. (NASDAQ:GSAT), announced this week that leading French sporting goods retailer Decathlon, has signed an agreement to distribute the SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger at its retail store locations throughout France. This is the first major European retailer signed up by SPOT.

Dedicated to the outdoor enthusiasts, the SPOT Satellite Messenger uses both the GPS satellite network to determine a user’s location and the Globalstar satellite system to transmit that information to friends, family or an emergency service center. In Europe the suggested price point of SPOT is €199; however, Decathlon is selling it at the discounted rate of €169, including one year free tracking (€39).

Decathlon operates more than 400 shops in about fifteen countries around the world, including 235 in France.
