Route 66 Nav with Worldwide Map Licence now on Android Market
Mobile navigation provider Route 66 has announced today the - delayed (read here) - availability of its Maps + Navigation software on the Android market.
Interestingly, the navigation provider offers (after a 30 days free trial) a lifetime worldwide license for turn-by-turn navigation in 80 countries. The licence is available via in-app purchase for EUR 49.99 / USD 64.99. India is surprisingly the only large country not included in this map bundle. Furthermore Route 66 includes non navigable maps for 104 countries free of charge even after the trial period has ended. Navigable and non navigable maps can be used off- or on-board, depending on customer’s choice. TomTom is the map data provider for this product (read here) The software includes Follow Me, an augmented reality feature that basically shows the road ahead using the camera and adds a virtual 3D car driving in front of you.
