Road Pilot Launches Speedcam Alert App
Speedcam database provider RoadPilot is announcing this week its mobile application targeting Nokia phones (Symbian S60 and Nokia Series 40 operating systems). Called RoadPilot Mobile, the application uses RoadPilot’s Omni database of speed camera locations throughout Europe, which is already licensed to companies such as Nokia and TeleAtlas.

RoadPilot Mobile will be available on an annual subscription basis (price to be announced shortly), during the launch phase RoadPilot Mobile will be available on a 30-day free trial to those who download the application before 31 January 2010, at which time the service will become chargeable.

“Historically, RoadPilot has concentrated on the provision of speed camera detection hardware, but we have been watching developments in the converging PND and telecoms markets with great interest and we are confident that the future of the market lies in smart phone applications”, explained James Flynn, CEO of RoadPilot.
