KPN is now making available its navigation solution - KPN OpWeg - for 10 handsets. A starting pack containing a Bluetooth GPS receiver, a car kit and a charger is available for €100 (€130 for Blackberry) then the monthly subscription cost €7.5 (€10 for Blackberry) including data cost. For customers willing to use the solution in the rest of Europe an additional fee of €2 is charged for one week use (included in the Blackberry subscription), but the roaming data cost is not included in the fee.
TeliaSonera was already using Appello as navigation provider in Sweden, but last week Denmark subsidiary decided to join the bandwagon of mobile navigation: "A recent extensive customer survey showed that more than 50% of our customers would like to have turn-by-turn navigation on their mobile phones", said Jesper Brøckner, Managing Director TeliaSonera in Denmark.
Telia Navigator is compatible with 92 handsets and cost €10.6 per month, excluding data that cost an additional €1.3 per Mb - one Mb of data allowing to travel approximately 25 routes of 200km each.
Both solutions are powered by Navteq.
