O2 UK sees CoPilot software as a very good commercial partner

Last November ALK signed a deal with the wireless operator O2 in the UK to equip their O2 XDA Orbit – a Windows Mobile device with integrated GPS – with the CoPilot software. This solution is proving a very good commercial solution for O2 according to David Quin, marketing director Europe at ALK. The device and its software is available for free for subscribers choosing an 18 months contract (GBP40/month).

This kind of deal and its success demonstrates wireless operators in Europe are not all reluctant to push on-board GPS navigation solutions.
