Nav N Go Signed up Motorola for Milestone's Motonav
We learned this week that Nav N Go has secured a new customer in the name of Motorola for the Motonav turn-by-turn navigation solution that is launching these days in Europe on the Motorola Milestone Android-based device. This agreement is covering countries in most of the world with the exclusion of the United States where Motorola is indeed using the free Google Maps Navigation solution.

Motorola Milestone customers will be offered a 60 days free trial, then a lifetime license fee. They will also be able to purchase additional content (maps, etc) through a Nav N Go operated, Motorola branded content portal which is currently in beta.

Nav N Go is succeeding to Destinator/Intrynsic in powering the Motonav solution which has not been a huge success in the past due to the lack of profile of Motorola Smartphones.

With the buzz generated by this device and its availability through many wireless operators both in Europe - Vodafone and O2 Germany, WIND in Italy, etc - and in South America, this contract should be bearing fruits for Nav N Go.

Dear Ludovic,
Is the described solution from NavNGo a preinstalled onboard solution or an off-board solution like the GOOGLE Nav in the US? Do you know if traffic information in Europe are included in the package?
Thanks. Bernhard

@Bernhard: this is an on-board solution, preinstalled. I don't know about traffic.

Ludovic
