NAVTEQ Signs Agreement with Turkey Yellow Pages
Digital map maker NAVTEQ officially signed this week an agreement with Turkey Yellow Pages. The Turkish company will provide its database of business listings to NAVTEQ, in exchange it will become the exclusive distributor of advertising packages for NAVTEQ maps.

Currently, Turkey Yellow Pages has a database of more than 500,000 companies and plans to increase this figure to 2 million in the near future.

Location-based advertising
Göktuğ Oğuz, the marketing director of Turkey Yellow Pages, stated that the advertising packages will be offered at affordable prices and will create a favorable platform for small and medium-sized establishments to purchase ads. “The future lies in maps, navigation and proximity searching. Location-based advertising will enable firms to enjoy scores of customers in the very near future,” he said.

NAVTEQ started mapping Turkey in 2007 and the Chicago-based company currently has three offices in Turkey, in İstanbul, Ankara and Adana.
