The new version of the RoadMate App is using map data and traffic information from NAVTEQ (surprisingly given that Mitac recently announced Magellan would be using Tele Atlas data – read here). NAVTEQ is doing here the first implementation on an iPhone of its free traffic information sponsored by location-based coupons and promotions. This system was already running on millions of PNDs in North America (particularly from Garmin and Magellan).
The Magellan RoadMate App is available for $59.99 (North America version), $49.99 (USA-only version), or $34.99 (Canada-only version) from the App Store on iPhone. Until December 1, 2010 a promotional pricing is available: $44.99 (North America version), $34.99 (USA-only version), or $29.99 (Canada-only version).
