Location Labs Intros Spatial Storage Solution
Cross carrier location provider Location Labs this week introduced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona a private beta of a new ¨"spatial storage" solution. It allows developer to upload, access and search geo-tagged content directly in the cloud. The benefit is said to be in the the speed of searching location-aware content.
The first datasets available in this storage solution are coming from Maponics. The company provides neighborhood, school and ZIP boundaries. With this new API Location Labs is willing to take on the market start-up SimpleGeo has been willing to create - with little traction thus far. But here Location Labs can leverage its existing developer community that could be interested in this value-added service. Wednesday, February 16th 2011
