Indoor Positioning: Pole Star Opens Subsidiary in the U.S.
Toulouse, France-based Pole Star which provides indoor positioning technology to airports and malls has announced the opening of a U.S. subsidiary and an office in Silicon Valley.

The office will be located between Palo Alto and San Jose and create three local jobs, a few other existing French employees joining the local team.

The strategy behind this new location is to develop the U.S. business and find strategic partners. Pole Star technology is already deployed in pilot phase in four shopping malls in the United States.

Last May Hub Telecom, a subsisdiary of Aéroport De Paris took a 17.3 percent stakes in Pole Star. According to local media it represented €2.7 million, valuating the company around €15 million. In 2010 Pole Star sales reached €1.2 million.

The company staff is currently 18 people including a recently hired sales executive responsible for Europe.
