Horizon Navigation to integrate Clear Channel traffic service into software

Horizon Navigation, a U.S. based navigation software developer, has announced that it will incorporate real-time traffic data from Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network (CCTTN) into its NavMate software. The goal of this partnership is to shorten development times for NavMate PND customers in providing an off the shelves solution.

Clear Channel signed a similar agreement last week with Nav N Go, another software provider (read details here).

Horizon has a long track record in software navigation. Its NavMate software has been powering navigation solutions in the USA since 1989. In June 2007 teh Santa Clara, California company sold its patent portfolio to TomTom for $29 million (read more here). Horizon currently provides its NavMate software to in dash, portable, and Smartphone platforms.
