In a blog post, Cédric Dupont, Google’s product director for indoor maps announced that indoor floor plans and directions are now starting to be available in France via Google Maps for Android (Android 2.2 or above, Google Maps for mobile version 6.0 or above).
The Mountain View company has already partnered with more than 50 venues, among them the two Parisian airports, shopping malls, museums and the leading French food retailers Carrefour, E.Leclerc and Casino.
The largest French partners thus far are Unibail-Rodamco a company that operates shopping malls with 25 of them in Google Maps and retailer Carrefour with 10 venues.
In total Google currently has in excess of 10,000 indoor location mapped in France, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Japan and Switzerland.
