Garmin to Open Wireless R&D Center in North Carolina
Garmin will open a wireless technology center in North Carolina, initially hiring up to 40 people. The GPS maker is looking to hire experienced wireless development, wireless software, and handset certification engineers. The company had a job fair last week which attracted hundreds of participants.
The R&D center will be located in the Research Triangle – constituted by the cities of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill - that has a large pool of engineering talents thanks to its local universities and high tech companies. Garmin has already hired the management of the future facility and is currently finalizing its location. Monday January 18, 2010
