At the IFA trade show in Berlin, Garmin today unveiled nüLink! 1695, a 5-inch touchscreen portable navigation device (PND) with connected, real-time services such as Google Local Search, traffic, weather, fuel prices, local events, movie listings and flight status.

Some types of additional contents are available uniquely in some countries; for example, in Germany the device also offers dynamic information on available parkings and parking fees.

nüLink! 1695 is also the first device to offer the “nüLink! Store” where customers can purchase optional premium services such as real-time advanced weather with Nexrad radar and severe weather alerts or premium safety camera alerts.

The U.S. version of the nüLink! 1695 – available September 2010 - will retail for $449.99 and comes with one year of free Garmin nüLink! services out-of-the-box ($5 per month afterward).

In Europe the nüLink! 1695 comes with maps of 44 countries and is expected in October 2010 for a price of €299 (suggested retail price, including VAT). The first year of the Live Services is free, then the data subscription is € 49.99 per year.
