Garmin Acquires Norwegian Distributor

Garmin Acquires Norwegian Distributor
Navigation device maker Garmin has announced the acquisition of Belanor AS, the distributor of its automotive, outdoor recreation, fitness and marine products in Norway. Financial terms of the transaction were not released.

This announcement follows earlier acquisitions of local distributors throughout Europe by Garmin. The GPS maker bought its French, Italian, Spanish, German and Danish distributors in 2007 and its Austrian, Belgium, Portuguese, Swedish and Finnish partners in 2008.

Garmin stated that “the company will be renamed Garmin Norge AS and will retain its management, sales, marketing and supporting staff, and will continue operations at its current headquarters and warehouse facility located in Dilling, Norway, near Oslo.”
