French restaurant booking service LaFourchette.com has announced today a new round of funding of €8 million from Serena Capital an Partech capital, each of them providing €4 million.
LaFourchette already raised 3.3 million from its historical investor, Smart&Co Ventures, in June 2011.
The total amount of funding raised by the start-up is approximately €12-13 million.
Launched in 2007, LaFourchette is the French equivalent of Open Table, offering free restaurant bookings to end users and making money from the restaurant owners.
According to French technology website JournalduNet.com, La Fourchette made €9 million in revenue in its fiscal year closing end of April 2012; a 95 percent growth against the previous year.
Several navigation and local search providers are offering restaurant booking through LaFourchette, for example Telmap and Poynt.
