Former NIM CEO Doug Antone Leaves TCS
Last year Doug Antone, CEO of Networks In Motion (NIM) sold his company to Telecom Systems for $170 million, the largest acquisition in the LBS arena since the sale of NAVTEQ and Tele Atlas. Since then he has been heading the navigation and telematics business unit at TCS. But today, an email sent to all TCS employees announced he will be leaving at the end of the year and replaced by Steve Petilli, co-founder of NIM and previously vice president business development for the navigation and telematics business unit.

Steve Petilli co-founded NIM in 2001. Before the acquisition by TCS he was the chairman and vice president business development.

Prior to NIM, Petilli was a senior director at Broadcom Corporation, reporting directly to the vice president of Broadband Technologies. He joined Broadcom through the acquisition of Pivotal Technologies, the company he co-founded and managed, including securing two rounds of venture funding through tier-1 venture capital firms, and growing the company to more than $250 million valuation upon acquisition.

Before founding Pivotal, he was president of Pleiades Research, a computer telephony software company. His previous experience includes positions at IBM and California Institute of Technology Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California. He has had several papers published in the areas of DSP and IC design.
