Faurecia: GPS Data to Adapt Car Seat Position
GPS-enabled car seat. The concept might look like an April fool's joke, but actually it isn't. At the upcoming LA Car Show, Faurecia, the world's sixth largest automotive supplier will unveil a technology called GPSFit that adapts the driver's seat to road conditions based on data from a GPS navigation device.

As explained by Faurecia: “GPSFit pulls speed and road data from the vehicle's GPS to determine if traffic issues are imminent, if a weather alert has been issued and other factors that will impact driving conditions down the road. GPSFit then influences the seat fit and posture settings to be a touch more appropriate for the changing nature of the task at hand.“
