Nearly two months after launching its paid iPhone app in Italy it seems French speedcam warning provider Coyote is successing in marketing its premium model to Italian drivers.
In the last two months the new app has been doing well, staying in the top 10 top grossing apps and the top 5 paid app downloads in the navigation category in the Italian iTunes store.
Coyote had initially launched a free Italian application on iTunes in April 2011 to build up its driver community and the app became subscription-based (€1.59 at download then €49.99 per year or €11.99 per month) early July 2012.

Interestingly, there is no lack of competition for speedcam warning systems in the iPhone Italian app store from players such as Waze, Keewee Technologies (Autovelox and Autovelox Live), Eifrig Media (CamSam) or TomTom Autovelox.
Coyote is also distributing its hardware devices in Italy through Magnetti Marelli Checkstar.
