Coyote Systems, a French provider of radar detector based on a peer to peer community, said this week it is opening two subsidiaries in Europe.

In the United Kingdom, Coyote opened Coyote Systems Ltd, based in Maidstone, Kent.
Coyote Systems SRO, its Czech subsidiary, also opened this month to serve the Czech and Slovakian markets.

In France Coyote has around 50,000 subscribers for its high end Coyote Mini. This product has a GPS and a GPRS connection to download and share updates about fixed and mobile speedcams. It costs €199, then €12 per month.

Last month Coyote unveiled a new device, Coyote Eagle which cost only €179 with a three years free update (via the integrated GPRS connection). This product does get the real-time alerts about mobile speed traps, but there is no subscription fee.

Jean-Marc Van Laethem, CTO and co-founder of Coyote recently answered our questions about the business of the company and its expansion across Europe. Watch the video interview below.
