“After GyPSii and Shanghai Unicom’s success working together during the Olympics in 2008, we are delighted to deepen this important relationship and open up GyPSii to the wider community of Unicom’s millions of subscribers,” said Dan Harple, Executive Chairman of GyPSii.
More than 5 million Shanghai Unicom customers can already download the GyPSii client directly on to their mobile device from the UniSpace website. This roll out will expand to an addressable target of over 130 million subscribers in China. As part of the GyPSii community, UniSpace members can immediately start to create “geotagged” content for sharing in “real-time” with friends, family and the global community of GyPSii members.
Last month GyPSii launched a Java client of its application (in Chinese and English) targeting Chinese mobile users. “The arrival of GyPSii on Java is another milestone for us, which broadens the choice across all massmarket devices that consumers can use and enjoy GyPSii on – alongside the iPhone, Windows Mobile, Symbian, Blackberry (RIM), webtop and netbook applications already in our portfolio,” said Dan Harple.
