CSR Licenses Multicore IP from ARM for Navigation Solutions

ARM and CSR plc, today announced that they have signed a major licensing agreement for the ARM Cortex-A5 MPCore and Cortex-A9 MP Core multicore processors.

CSR intends to use this intellectual property for building location-aware System-on-Chip platforms for In-dash and Portable Navigation Device (PND) markets and for new, emerging location-aware consumer device markets. The company focuses especially on the fast growing economies of the Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) countries.
