CES: Pioneer Brings Apps to New Aftermarket Infotainment Units

Expanding upon the Pioneer AppRadio platform introduced in 2011, Pioneer has unveiled at the CES trade show a second version of its Android head unit (AppRadio2) as well as three compatible infotainment head units (AVH-P8400BH, AVIC-X940BT and AVIC-Z140BH).

The advanced App Mode combined with the Pioneer AppRadio App enables AVIC users to view and control compatible third-party apps. Pioneer has currently certified around 15 apps such as MotionX-GPS Drive, INRIX Traffic, Rdio, Pandora internet radio and more.

“More AppRadio compatible apps are under development,“ stated Pioneer.
