CES: GoBandit Releases New High-End GPS/Wi-Fi Action Camera
Among many companies exhibiting sport and fitness consumer electronics products at the CES trade show was Gobandit, an almost three years old start-up that designs and sell GPS-enabled action cameras for extreme sport enthusiasts.

Their latest device presented at the CES is the Gobandit LIVE camera that features gyroscope, accelerometer, barometric pressure sensor (altitude), GPS, Wi-Fi and, last but not least, ANT+ (to connect the camera to a heart rate monitor). The camera is also waterproof for use in water sports such as Kite and windsurfing.

At the optics level the camera has a 170 degrees lens and a full HD resolution. For sharp, slow-motion action playback the frame rate can be enhanced up to 60 frames per second.

The Wi-Fi allows for an immediate upload of the videos to Youtube, Facebook etc... through a companion iPhone application.

In addition to the hardware, gobandit provides an application that add “skins“, a customized layer on top of the video feed that provide real-time speed, maximum speed, altitude, heart rate, etc...

Needless to say this device targets the high end of the market with a price tag of $429.

For a bit less ($329), the Gobandit RACE is a mid range camera that records GPS information in 170-degree, full HD-quality videos but without Wi-Fi and other precision sensors.
